How do smart cities change the way we make and use shoes?
We invite you to our exhibition of prototypes of the "Data-enabled short-range mobility" project.
These prototypes test how we can address the smart city from the shoe perspective and rethink shoes for what they are and how they interact with the surrounding. How does the data generated from the smart city help us make shoes in new ways? How can data generated from shoes help improve the city for all the people who live there?
We think of shoes as cars, trains and planes for our feet. We present prototypes that use smart city data as the basis for new shoes designed for short-range mobility. We speculate on how we can draw smart-city data from our shoes as well.
Smart Cities yield new opportunities for creative innovators to come up with new products or designs that are connected with the city. How do we make shoes that learn from the city? How do we create databases of all the people who wear shoes in a city? How do we handle data privacy (GDPR) in the process? How do we help smart-city designers and shoe designers join forces to conceive the city as a living, growing, complex adaptive system?
Additionally you are welcome to join our online discussion about the DESRM prototypes and their related topics from 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
