New Modes – inspired by Die Neue Sammlung and BMW Group Design
- DESIGN SCHAU!
- Panel discussion
Türkenstr. 15, 80333 München
By engaging with objects from Die Neue Sammlung, Anab Jain, Angelika Nollert and Adrian van Hooydonk illustrate the potential of design to mould social transformations.
Anab Jain, Angelika Nollert and Adrian van Hooydonk choose design objects from the recently opened X- D-E-P-O-T of Die Neue Sammlung - The Design Museum to illustrate their view of design. The objects add a tangible element to the conversation: a temporary environment where design is not a mere topic of discussion, but an actual subject to be dealt with.
Personal objects of the panelists are brought into dialogue with objects from the X- D-E-P-O-T of Die Neue Sammlung to convey an idea of how social transformation manifests itself in the use of these objects: They show how social change becomes visible only by interrelating the material contexts and their meanings, which are all inscribed in the objects themselves.
The event will be moderated by Luisa Bergander from The Futures Collaborative.
