The design firms UNStudio and Space&Matter (Amsterdam), creative developer BLOC (Rotterdam) and district & project developer Ehret+Klein (Munich) share their experience with an integrated approach.
What do future cities need to be healthy and thriving places for everyone? The current urban planning policies often fail to understand the human and economic value of community building, resulting in monofunctional neighbourhoods that are unable to cope with different functionalities (tourism, mobility, energy), lack social amenities or provide insufficient public green spaces.
Both with and without digital layers, architecture, urban design and spatial strategy play significant roles in the development of inclusive, clean and healthy cities. The global design firm UNStudio (Amsterdam), design Studio Space&Matter (Amsterdam), creative developer BLOC (Rotterdam) and district & project developer Ehret+Klein (Munich) share their integrated approach experience.
How do we connect nature and the city?
How do we create synergy between private frontrunners and public realm?
How do we combine the energy transition, climate adaptation and growing populations in the confined spaces of our cities?
Alexander Gutzmer, former Editor-in-Chief of architecture magazine "Baumeister", moderates an interactive afternoon session.
