Nicolene is a renowned footwear forecaster & visionary, with a background in engineering, journalism, marketing & design. She is known from the footwear forecasting agency Ytrends & SLEM, the former innovation and training centre for the footwear and leather related industries. She recently started The Footwearists, together with the former SLEM team. They are offering short courses & workshops for footwear professionals that want to expand their knowledge of innovative technologies and practices for the footwear industry. It is a fully nomadic institute with a vast network of freelance educators from all around the world who each have specific expertise in different areas of footwear innovation, circular business models, biofabrication & digital technologies.
