Sarah Dorkenwald

The designer Sarah Dorkenwald practices in her practical as well as her theoretical work a critical design approach. In exchange with other disciplines she challenges common design methodologies and social conventions and by way of contemporary design positions, she proposes system-changing alternatives with regard to the handling of resources, production and distribution as well as living together. She is a professor at the University of Communication and Design in Ulm. Together with the design theorist Karianne Fogelberg, Sarah Dorkenwald has founded the studio UnDesignUnit in Munich. Jointly they combine competencies and methods from design and design theory and work at the crossroads of other disciplines and forms of knowledge. www.undesignunit.com
