Aadarsh Rajan studies and designs Tamil letters. He often works in concert with other foundries, designers and clients, designing, writing and consulting on all matters regarding Tamil type. Apart from participating in this high-speed-high-stakes world of type design, he also dabbles in graphic design, lettering and logotype design. Another significant aspect of his practice is research and writing. He is currently focussed on two projects: the first is Tamil type-founding in 19th century Madras Presidency. The second investigates the role of 'academic' design and accreditation on the vocation of graphic design, specifically as it pertains to DTP artists in India.
