TASERBEAM is both design studio and vertical farming showroom. At MCBW 2022, the collective invites you to take a look at the work of the recently founded studio.
As part of Bahnwärter Thiel Atelierpark, the collective uses a shipping container as a design studio and plant laboratory. The studio breaks away from the conventional boundaries between traditional design disciplines and focuses on analogue and digital media solutions, with light playing a central role as a design element.
The duo's first project explores the topic of vertical farming. With their installation AUXIN, they showcase their vision and raise fundamental questions about what human-machine-plant interactions could look like in the future.
AUXIN is a vertical farming installation in the environment of a busy indoor public space where crops are grown in a controlled environment without soil (hydroponics) and dependent on artificial light. Different lighting moods influence the health and well-being of its recipients. The aesthetic interaction of light and plants creates an emotional experience designed to reconnect people with nature and bring them closer to the production of their food.
