Practice in Perspective- career paths for industrial designers
- CREATE BUSINESS!
- Speech
- Young Professionals
Freelance, industry, research, NGO...? Design studies teach you how to design objects, systems, media and services. But how can you design your post-grad life?
The design industry is highly competitive and quite demanding, but it can also hold a magnificent, fulfilling career for anyone who is passionate about a creative profession. The options for students and graduates are manifold, the world is their oyster. But what are the concrete options, and how do you choose the right one? We want to present as many different paths to a design career as possible: the more classic versions as a team member of a design studio or as a freelance designer, but also careers that revolve more around craft activities, research and management.
The host is the VDIDlab, the young designers' organisation of the Association of German Industrial Designers. With its interactive and constructive atmosphere, it is the place for young designers and student members of the association to exchange ideas.
Participants of the event will have the opportunity to learn from the professionals and their best practices. They can network with them and with each other, make plans for their professional future, in short: sharpen their personal perspective for their own design practice.
